Hi, new user here, I recently bought a well used Multicam M series 60" x 60" 3hp router table. Finally got it working on all axis and spindle runs pretty sweet. It looks like the panel was wired in 2000 or 2001 (M24 motherboard). Now I need to get the control communicating with my linux pc. Is this possible? I know Multicam offers a DNC software pkg, but they haven't been very helpful in getting this from them. Is there alternate software available? Currently trying to use DNC-X software on my linux pc but it gives a error on the Multicam handheld terminal -network not responding. Thanks for your help. Newlife |

After browsing around I am wondering if I wouldn't be better off pulling the Multicam control substituting a MACH 3 controller instead. I am assuming processing power etc for 3d and engraving would be better with the newer PC based system. Am I giving up too much by going to a alternate control system? Planning to use existing stepper drives etc. What would you do? Thanks newlife |
