Laminate then cut or cut then laminate?

If you need plastic laminate on a piece of substrate is it best to add the laminate first then cut or should the piece be cut then laminated and trimmed by hand?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Depends on the application. If you need to edgeband with laminate and don't want to see the black edges, then you should cut, edgeband, then laminate. if you're not edgebanding, or don't mind seeing it, then it doesn't really matter. But if you'e making a lot of parts, it's usually faster to laminate sheets first, then cut the parts out of the sheets.

Im not sure which is best, but at work they usually laminate then cut without any problems.
