We bought thru alibaba.com a CNC router from SUDA corporation. We are located in Italy. SUDA is located in China. The CNC router is the SD1208 (see picture). We are in the process of setting up the machine. So far almost everything OK. They gave us a very concise and limited user manual. So far it seems that they have little idea of customer service. Right now our major doubt is which liquid to use to cool off the spindle. Anybody has any idea? Buddies are telling us that using the wrong cooling liquid might cook up the spindle motor real fast. Anybody has the same machine? Same problem? We are going to use it mostly for aluminium sheets 5mm. |

| You should use a coolant with ethylene glycol in it, The same stuff that is used in car radiators. Doing this stops the insides of the spindle from corroding and damaging it. The ethylene glycol / water mix should be similar to what is put in a car radiator. Edit, if you are meaning the liquid to cool the cutters, you can use a water soluble cutting fluid mixed with water at a very high water to cutting fluid ratio. Another option is to use methylated spirits, but sometimes this can damage the plastics in the mister equipment if it is a low grade of meths. I personally would use the methylated spirits as it leaves no residue on the aluminium. You can also use plain water when cutting plastics to increase cutter life. Be aware that methylated spirits should not be used on acrylics as it can cause cracking when the acrylic ages. Shannon.

| When those spindles are offered separately, they usually say to use tap water for coolant. http://www.homeshopcnc.com/HFspindle2.html

| Hi guys. Thanks for the help! We are going to experiment with glycol and water. Where we live the tap water is too hard. We found also some info here: http://www.dongfangxueshi.com/english/down.htm |

| This is our final cooling setup: ![]() We found out at last that the two clothing boxes that the vendor used in the shipping to pack tools and documents were also intended to be used as tanks. They sent us an email with some instructions. With some surprise we finally submerged the aquarium water pumps provided with the machine into those boxes, used glycol water and we have begun machining with this setup. So far it works. Customer service, with the vendor (Suda) is going from bad to worse ![]() . I am thinking to open a thread about it. |
