Shoda NC516p/Fanuc 15-M axis swap? | | Hi All,
I recently got a job at a company that has 2 CNC routers. One Komo VR-508 which runs very well, and one Shoda NC516P that runs, but not as well as I would like. One of the biggest problems we have is that the post for our software (BobCAD) doesn't account for the axes being different, since this was a machine we bought used from overseas.
I am wondering if there is a way to swap the X and Y axes on the machine to make it function just like the Komo. Currently the origin of the work coordinate system is the left corner of the table closest to you. The +Y axis runs along the long edge of the table and the -X goes down the left side. We would like to have the long side be +X and the short side +Y, basically rotated 90 degrees. Is this possible to do this through the controller (Fanuc 15-M series if it matters), or would the machine need to be rewired?
I attached a picture that I had on file. If anyone needs anything else to help out please let me know. |
