G'day all, I'm new here and was hoping that some one could give me some advice on the following CNC router. I'm looking at buying one for machining "aqua plaque board" which is a product that looks alot like plaster board. It is used for casting bronze plaques. The machine is an "Omnisign Plus CNC router 4" This is the link: http://www.reddotinternational.com/p..._router_4.html Has anyone here had any experience with these machines or can someone tell me what to look for in a cnc router. Which ones are good and which ones are not so good. Thanks. |

| I have looked at the Omni but it was being sold by a guy in Canada on ebay. Cabinet is right it is made by the same company making excitech. i think their name is shcnc. i'm looking at camaster or ezrouter.. I like that ez router runs on mach which one of my employees is familiar with but camaster says wincnc is better software. |

| I notice there is a forum for excitech here. You should ask there. it is the same manufacturer. I got some more information from ez router this morning about how they compare to the other routers I was looking at. Have you checked out ezrouter? |

| I was told that the wincnc has a lot of trouble is for techie programmer types and that mach is the most popular because it is so user friendly and offers much more functionality.. Have you used Mach or are you basing your opinion on only having used wincnc? Thanks |

| i have mach and do use it on a smaller router, wincnc is just what we are more used to and there is wide support amongst cabinetmakers and oems with it, mach is a decent controller just not what i prefer in the commercial world, doesn't make it better or worse just a mater of what works for you. there are others much better versed in it than i. jim
