Question student having trouble with cnc RM25

im a student at burnett high school and im am tring to learn CNC but nobody actualy teaches it here, although they do have a machine as well as all the other nesesitys but there is one problem. there is something wrong with the machine, it doesnt seem to understand the depth(z) and is unabe to jog up and down corectly, the machine is an RM 25. my drafting teacher saw a piece that he think looks like an optical sensor that he think might be programed wrong could it be the cause? please help!!!

Could you explain what you mean by the controler? Do you mean
the black box that is with it or the software on the computer?

both, take a pic of the box (open) and take a few!! then open computer and lets find out the name of the software?

what city and state are you in, we need to contact and find a cnc user with mastercam near you, there are several forums where we could do this.

ok master cam is the design and toolpath software, the is a software that tells the router where to go, i believe camtech has there own controller, what is on your computer screen to operate the router?

ok, i sent a request to cam tech for you, i asked them to help a student who is trying to learn cnc out, might be good for them!!

optical sensor? could you take a good clear pick of this optical sensor. and please tell me in detail what it is doing. not sure but could be a prox sensor. and it could be getting interferance.
