Sure thing the first and easiest thing to do is take a volt meter and turn it to ohms and then put the leads to the screws on the switch. Then push the button to see if it creates current if not the switch is bad, if it does then you probably have a blown bit and port.

If this is the case you do not have to buy a new wincnc card there are several open inputs available on those cards unless you have a tool changer which then you only have a couple extra. Either way you have an option. If you go into the wincnc.ini file you can find the designated input on the z axis switch (called axislo= or axishi=). You will need to cut that wire inside the box and solder it to another input and then tag it in the wincnc.ini file to that new bit and port.

If you unit has a 37 pin breakout board then just take the wire out of that board and move to another pin.

    Thanks,

Thank you! I was just thinking that! I have the 7200 card, and I think it has 5 or 6 axis isnt it? I tried that in the day but with the continuity and it seems that the card is the problem... i also tried the card in other port and the problems begins when you turn on the PC... do you have any diagrams of the port? I will make some trial-and-error, but a diagram will surely help =)

i purchased one of the ebay machines that was stripped and returned to the leasing company by warthog and am currently upfiting the controller and motors new, what type of breakout board do you have! this is wincnc's new board, your inputs will flash on and off when contact is made here and give you the pin locations, depending on how your winini file was written you can find it there as well.

Nope, it is similar but no. I don't know what you tried to say with: high speed online.

Thanks to Eagle Eye for the schematic, I notice that the pin #8 is damaged in the card, and I swaped to the pin #2, which is not in use, and now IT WORKS! YEAH! I'm running tests now!

If you need any help, I can help! =)

    Got an sx-100

excellent!! most of the time you can simply move from one input to another and change it in your .ini file, i have three of the machines, one is a warthog that was built in the 90's by the original owner, one built in 2008 by the camaster company and one built by the same people who built yours, i bought the small black one in the same ebay auction and bid on the one you got as well!!

you did get a great deal!!
