In my limited researh, of smaller table top sized (approximately 24" x 36" x 5") CNC routers, I have noted two basic design concepts: 1) Moving gantry 2) Moving table What are the pros and cons of each? |

| igolfat8, Cost is one factor the moving table routers i have looked at tend to have a bigger price tag. But the two best adavantage for the standard style would have to be. 1. loading a blank on the table as the router is working and then restarting the file on the new materal while changing out the one just cut. this saves time, gets more product done. 2. When you start reading and changeing g-code on the fly it is simpler to thing of the head moving to the xy than the table moving in the other direction to do the same path. this lessens your learning curve.
