There are plenty of places to buy a used cnc router from out here, but there are also plenty of pitfalls. In my business, I have ran into a wide range of equipment types and conditions. Once you have decided on a machine and seller. 1. Get someone to inspect the machine, DO NOT MISS THIS STEP, too many machines out there, that are in bad shape and once you have bought it, it is now your paperweight. If the machine is not under power, still have someone do a physical inspection, there are a lot of things that will rule out a machine just by doing this. No need to ship the equipment and come to find out, pieces/equipment are missing. 2. Talk to the manufacture or distributor, find out the SN#.Find out the history, if you can, some distributors/manufacturer hold on for dear life about this information. Case in point about a machines history, in speaking to the manufacturer, I was informed that the controller was not supported anymore, and should the boards crash, the replacement controller would be 30K, the price of this used machine was 34K. ![]() 3. Ask the seller, if you get the machine install and for what ever reason, the machine doesn't function, what is their policy on defective equipment and make sure you get this in writing. 4. Check to make sure that you are not going to get blindsided by transfer fees, there are manufactures/distributors that are charging these fees ranging from 500.00 to as much 3000.00 and in this case, they could not even help the customer get the machine up and running, even after they paid the 3000.00 dollar fee. ![]() Here are some companies that I have had great success with. Check these contact out, very knowledgeable, and not a high pressure sale environment.
