Anyone used either of these 'pro' routers?

Just wondering if anyone has purchased or used either of these two cnc routers off feebay? I am looking at getting a cheaper/lower end 5'x10' router and I am wondering about one of these two? They look to me as if they will need a little TLC to work 100% but that isn't too much of an issue for this engineer

These guys are all buying from a company called SH-CNC in China and are getting pretty good machines.

I would be careful about some of the eBay ads, some of them have feedback for selling sunglasses etc.. however they have never sold a CNC machine!

I would check all feedback first and then contact the customers to make sure they received CNC products and services promised.

Several people have paid for and never received the CNC router they ordered.

Be careful of deals that sound to good.

I don't think they sound to good to be true by looking at the quality in the pictures, I think it is more of an issue for me about how much will need changing and tuning to get them operating to their potential. The Excitech thread is what led me to ask about these routers, but I don't remember seeing those particular machines in that thread, I will read it again though.

Please let me clarify my last statement, I dont know if the routers you are asking about are mentioned in the excite thread, however as I stated before one of the routers that you asked about has never been sold by the vendor on eBay.

How do you go from selling sun glasses one day to CNC routers the next day.
There are several very sad storys about people being ripped off, anyone can tell a great story.

I hope after spending between 5K -12K on a CNC router you dont need to do very much tweaking to have a great running system, other than a normal user learning curve which is to be expected.

Test driving a machine with your application would be a good place to start.

I see that one of those auctions has no feedback in relation to his supposed cnc sales.
The Excitech cnc's from China seem to be the best to look at getting. I have been on their site in recent weeks and going by peoples experience on here it looks safer and more promising.

I am currently employed using a 4'x8' multicam but I am considering purchasing my own machine.

You can get over to OZ for a cheap plane ticket, several of the guys there have just purchased new systems and if you talk to them they might run your application so you can see if the machine fits your requirements.

They are really nice guys and it would probably save you alot of headaches.

The reason why I say this is beacuse my first CNC purchase turned into a very expensive learning lesson, because I did not do my homework correctly!

It also appears that a few guys in NZ have got some excitech routers on the way. I will consider seeing if I can have a look at them when they arrive here.

The trip to Aussie might be the go too.

Be Careful ! I noticed on e-bay that neither of these machines include a vacuum table or pump. They don't show a dust shroud. The biggest thing missing is the support ! Who's going to support you after the sale?? Do you have machinery dealers in New Zealand? I purchased a cnc router in October 2006 from Camaster. The machine is a Chinese machine that was imported, purchased by Camaster, modified to my request and installed in my shop. The machine is great but the support is awesome. I had a little issue with my z-axis depth being off some. I couldn't figure it out. I'm a cabinetmaker not an engineer ! I called Josh with Calmaster and he went on my computer over the internet and took care of the problem. There are tons of machines out there that will do the job, but who's behind that machine? Check out Bill and Josh (father and son) at www.camaster.com . He also uses Win CNC on his machines. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Hi Keith,

I am not too worried about the support side of things as I intend to service the machine myself. I am currently building two cnc machines so the maintenance/repair side is not an issue. I am more looking towards getting a machine from http://sh-cnc.en.alibaba.com in China instead of off ebay.

I am looking at making my own vacuum bed and can purchase reconditioned name brand vacuum pumps for cheaper here than importing one. Most of the other equipment like extraction etc is really quite simple to make.
