Digital Tool

Hi,

I'm looking for contact info for Digital Tool

I have a custom built DPK72004XDTI Anaheim Automation Drive
giving me a fault and I need the manual....Anaheim say's they
do not have one, So I'm looking for information on the above
drive before I spend a couple hours driving to the machine for the
first time.

I've been told the fault light turns on.....That's all I have
at the moment

Thanks

Jason Wilson

Jason what year was your machine made in? There were several different versions of the Digital Tool using different Anaheim drive pacs. It would help to know about when the machine was made.

Does the machine use rack and pinion on all axis?

The Machine has Rack On the Y & X
And a Screw on the Z and W (Which is the 2nd Z Axis)

Looking at the Power Pack I'm getting 30 Volts, and the Cards want a nominal
60 VDC.... the Motor is Specced at 160VDC on it's sheet....

And I'm seeing some cablling problems....

Right now I'm looking for alternative systems... I have the controllers we use on machinery everyday but it would be a $10K Retrofit for All of the Electronics.... It'd beat the open loop and I could gaurantee uptime.....

As of Now I'm looking at either putting in our tried and true system or re-designing the current one....

Ken my machine is much earlier than your's and the drive pack is different. Sorry.

BTW my machine is retrofitted using Mach3 and Geckos while still using the power supply part of my drive pack. I promise you it is not $10k but then again, it isn't closed loop either. One more thing you need to be aware of on these machines are the little .375" shafts that are attached to the stepper motors via a coupler on the x and y. On my machine, they used a 1/8" pin to hold the first gear on and both of them broke.

Digital Tool

CNT Motion in Pittsburgh is run by the guy who started digital tool. Give them a call, they might be able to help.

not 100% sure, but I think the DPK series is the same as the DPF series, but with an 800W power supply instead of a 600 W one.

here's the DPW manual http://www.anaheimautomation.com/man...rs%20Guide.PDF

We run a DT Tool Meta Machine.... they closed up shop and re-morpehd as Digital Tool, and then again as CNT Motion. I'm quite sure it's the same guys.... all out of Pittsburgh
