I didn't really know where to share this info. I just wanted to share with the viewers this machine I purchased through Romaxcnc.com. I have made a couple of mods to it. It has been a great little machine. This video show me cutting 3/4 MDF at 80 IPM at 1/4 passes. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...57189339425828 |

First let me tell you that I am completely new to the whole CNC stuff. I do have a lot of design background so it wasn't that hard for me to pick it up. The Romaxx has rapids of up to 1200ipm. I currently have mine set to 300ipm. As far as cutting speeds it wll all depend on what you are cutting and how deep the passes are. I usually cut my MDF at 80 or 100 ipm with a 1/4 inch pass.I know it will cut faster but I feel safe cutting at this speed. Ron Rogers from Romaxx has been great. I had problems in the eginning because of my knowledge. He provided great support. He even gave me his # so I could ask questions. I don't usually promote products that are not mine like so. But this machine has helped me in my business so much. |

I'm also a newbie and really impressed with what I see of the romaxx. The machine seems to defy conventional wisdom (and save a lot of money) by using belt drive instead of screw drive. Wondered what kind of accuracy you are seeing? Accurate curves and circles? Repeated passes line up? Any other observations? |

| Whitesideentp. Hi! I have seen the Romaxx website and I am very curious about the design they have and the linear + power transmission system they have. Could you take some closeup pictures of your machine in the area of the bearings also could you comment about the stiffness and the white belt, what brand is the belt, it it a regular timing belt or something else. Pictures would be great. I am too intrigued by the belt system. Overall his design looks simple. Thank you. Konstantin. |
