I am looking for a hobby/light duty CNC machine, and have had more than a passing interest in the CompuCarve/Carvewright machine. I've also seen the Keling Technology machine, which looks like it's a pretty complete unit - just add Mach 3. Delivery time looks like about a week, and it comes with a 1-year warranty. Has anyone used this machine? Opinions? I know I've seen the word Keling here more than once (and I know there's a KelingInc member), and the posts all seem positive about the parts ... but how's about the whole unit? Thanks! Your pal, Meat. |

err... Thanks, I guess. That's the site that the ad on this site points to, and where I went in the first place. No one has this machine? Your pal, Meat. |

| Obviously, you stand behind your machine. I like that. That's what I like to hear from the manufacturer. I really just wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with them. It doesn't look like it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm getting closer and closer to ordering the machine from you (and I'll certainly report my experiences - real ones, not opinions from people who haven't used the machine - here). Thanks for your input. You've helped me with my decision! Your pal, Meat. |

HDPE's modulus of elasticity is 200ksi. Aluminum's is 10,400 ksi. Steel's is 30,000 ksi. Deflection is inversely proportional to the modulus of elasticity. HDPE will deflect ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TIMES more than steel of the same thickness. |

| Gotta agree, machines made out of HDPE (cutting boards) are pretty much worthless. Unless of course, you do mind your cutter going wherever it feels like, wobbling, flexing, etc, etc. you might want to see some of my other comments here: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...673#post262673 Suffice it to say, I screwed up, bought one of those pieces of JUNK, and yea, I am out $75 in shipping, but I drove the thing 300 miles to return, so I am out that gas and time too. Oh sure, you can return them, but you pay the shipping. Ok, fine, I suppose you could cut balsa for model airplanes with it. If you do not mind the bow in the top and all you are is profiling parts. |
