| If you are doing a lot of custom work and all the parts are different and you need to move the pods around a lot like granite counter top routers then its a good buy. But if you make more of the same parts like with cabinets then ~18K is a lot of money.

| There was a thread on this topic a while back and someone made the suggestion that you could possibly make your own projection system using a video projector hooked up to a PC. Bring your layout up on the screen and have the projector mounted above the machine pointing down. You may need to dim the lights to see but some projectors are very bright and can throw a large image. Probably something could be put together for $3000 - 4000. It might have been ynneb from Australia that suggested it but if it was someone else I apologise in advance. |

| Most companies I have worked with that purchased the Laser Projection Systems, ahd very specific or "niche" uses for it. One company made very nice inlay table tops and did the final pheriphery route after the inlay process. They would use the laser projection to align the core so that the inlays remained contant. The other primary use was quick accurate projection for pod placement. Hope this helps. Mark T. www.cnccustomservices.com |
