Thanks guys for the info in my other posts. First off I am virgin to cnc ( i mean virgin) I don't know ****. I don't even know what g code is . Is there anywhere i can go to start learning the basics and lingo. I am a 12 year sign veteran and I was looking to get a cnc. I was looking to try and stay around 15 for the machine plus software. I will mainly be cutting signfoam, mdf, different woods, sintra (pvc board). I will mostly be doing straight cuts. 2-2.5 d. but I was very impressed with artcam and thought of investing in it. I am looking at bobcam and v curve as suggested to me. the table i was looking at were dynacnc & shopbot 4' x 8'. I would appreciate any advice anyone can spare. I know everyone has their own opinions and the machine they favor. Also, is it possible to build a cnc in a 4'x8' size, and if so would do you think it would be worth a ****. thanks all for taking the time to read and reply I also custom paint motorcycles and offshore cigarette boats (19 years exp.) so if anyone should happen to have any questions towards that email me. i will be happy to help. And i know this isn't a paint forum thanks extremecanvas |

| you are definitely in the right place if you don't know squat. I have learned a ton here. There are a few books that you can buy that will help, however I don't have the names handy. I'll get them tomorrow at work and post them. You can use the search feature on this board, it works pretty well. Good luck.
