    controller question

    Hi fellow cnc users,
In our shop we are using a Masterwood Project 317 cnc, with a cn10 controller. The editing program is Masterwood 310. My question is that the program for editing is outdated (win98 based), we are wanting to upgrade to a winxp computer. i can edit using autocad with a converter (much faster more accurate) Can I use a more user friendly program directly at the machine and will the controller work? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Our 327 uses the CN10, but it's DOS. We use AutoCAD and CadCode, it's much faster than doing anything at the machine. The only thing I'll do at the machine is a quick manual g-code change, if there happens to be a problem with the code. (Usually caused by user error ) You might want to contact Masterwood, and see how much it is to upgrade to their newer software. (Probably quite a bit)

    OLD masterwood

    Hi,

In our factory we have one old masterwood machine we have 2 problems.

    1. problem Software Mastersystem2 which come with machine is very old Windows 98 based. Works on 2000 and XP versions but dongle not recognized.

    2. problem we need to connect this machine to computer for program transfer. At this time all programs are stored in machine and movement of programs is only with FDD drive. Some users sometimes push magic button Delete All (all programs)

    Machine Info:
    CE MasterWood
    LE Macckinn del Legmo
    4790 RIMI
    (RN) Italy - VIVA Romania
    18-20
    CIPO Machino 317
    kg 1800
    Mastrcova 990600
    79 Anno 99
    KVA 21,2

When I see so old computer hardware, I can`t imagine what to do because if I do something wrong repair was impossible...
