Need a little guidance on a project I would like to build. I'll start with the Meterial, Mostly Pylwood up to 20mm thick, also some hard woods up to 10mm thick. I would like to relief the front and back in various shapes, from circles to stick figures. I have a protype machine built that can do most of what I want on the front then I need to turn it around to relief the back, this is where the problem lies. one more thing It's a slightly diffrent topic but crictal to the finish. is there software out there that can cut with the grain of the wood. If you have wood with a simple grain (left/right or forward/backward, depending on how it's placed on the CNC machine) then possibly yes. Tools like MeshCAM can create a gcode file that will cut shapes by sweeping from left/right (or forward/backward) only. However, it's more suitable for complex pseudo-3D objects, rather than simple cut out shapes. Hope that helps. |

| "I have a protype machine built that can do most of what I want on the front then I need to turn it around to relief the back, this is where the problem lies." Is it a problem of fixturing or referencing, both? Do you have a vaccum system? |
