    Worth the money?

    Hi,
I've been looking at CNC routers for a few months.
I ran across this one on ebay.

    CNC Router on Ebay

Some red flags went up right away.
    Unsupported linear rails?
Thrust bearings for the screws (appear to be ACME type)?
Is the 80/20 up to the task? (appears to be 3030)

Price seems right if the above listed items don't kill the deal.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

I think it's very expensive for what you get.
I'll think it's cheaper to get the parts individual, even better parts.

The screws are trapezoid (metric acme), no ballscrew.
    Small stepper driver.
Dos software.(This can be good but it ain't MACH3 )
unsupported rails wich is also very small, 20mm diam.
    The steppers are decent.
The kress spindle is nice but it only cost €159,- alone.

In my opinion the unsupported rails is reason enough to avoid it.

K2cnc would be a better design for not a lot of extra $$, plus It would keep your money in the US economy!

    vacpress,

I thought you had completely fallen off your rocker till I did a search on the auction site. I'm glad you're you're still sane

As for foreign companies and their awkward English, why can't they just pay someone who speaks English to write their adds?

On second thought, I've had more than a few good laughs reading assembly instructions that came from China!
