| Milling Steel with a Retroed Wood Router Has anyone else put a Mill head on there wood router? I needed to have my new Z axis machined flat and parallel. Everyone told me $500+since its 62" long. Most don't have big enough mills. So I bought a used Enco Turrent Mill head for $500 and bolted it to my X axis after I put on some used thk slides and a new screw in place of the old thompson rails and a rack. Chucked up a 3/4" 2 flute mill and turned it on. IT actually cut it nice. Shocked me. Guess Thermwood makes a ridged frame. See pics below. Donny www.whiterivermfg.com |

| Thats what I love about this place, people who experiment and post the results of thier experiments so that others can follow them. Fantastic thread, and thanks for sharing. |
