    need a little more info...

A little more information would be helpful. Which software do you use to transfer programs to the machine? Is it MX32 or Jobserver?

My main machine: Multicam MG series (MG101) with original Extratech H971 controller, Minarik servo motors, Electro-Craft BRU-series drives, 4KW Colombo. Let's talk Multicam!

__Thank You for your Quick reply
    _We use Jobserver_____________________________________
This might be a bit of a read but I am going to try to make it as short and to the point as possible.

Currently we are trying to change how we program/operate the two machines that we have, right now we have one computer with engravelab that creates all the programs, both machines access the hard drive to locate the more than 100 programs in countless directories. How I am trying to change the system is by adding a second computer and having engravelab directly send files to the machine through the serial port (we can use the a virtual eithernet port as well, but I want to see if we can get things working first before making it faster)

Instead of messing around with the one computer that works, I used my personal laptop, installing all the software needed from multicam and engravelab. Next I configured multicam's communication program to use COM4 with 19,200 baud and even parity. Next I set my device manager on my computer to the same settings reducing the speed as per multicam's instructions. Lastly I set engravelab to engrave directly to port, set the port specs to the same as before.

Whenever I engraved to port, a window would come up with data transmitted, no errors (after a little fiddling around), I even opened the cabinet and viewed the RXD led on the board receiving data. Also after some frustration I changed it to the print spooling option and had the same outcome.

Here's where I have the problem, after the data had been transmitted, either directly or by the print spooler, the handheld device did not show that anything had been sent, press the start button and it tried to connect to the DNC server (which was disconnected), while reading the multicam manual I noticed that you can select remote or local DNC, went to the utilities directory where the DNC select should be to find it isn't there......

So now you know how half of my day has been, chasing phantom programs in controller land......I have no doubt the data is getting to the controller but I don't understand why it isn't letting me access it. Somehow I think it has something todo with the controller parameter options that aren't listed in the multicam manual.

Please fill me in if I am missing anything or something else that I should be looking at.
