Question Looking for advice on retrofit for Accucut router

I recently purchased a 11 year old accucut router that was mechanically sound but unused for quite a while. I got a great deal and the table, router, and steppers all worked with some minor tinkering. My problem is the controller for this machine. It uses old proprietary software and does not function well. Since the steppers work using the machines keypad just how much do I need to replace to make this unit work with something like Mach3. Am I looking at a controller like a gecko or a controller and power supply or would it just be simpler to buy a complete kit. I want to do this as cheaply as possible but need to be up and running soon.

Also who would be good to go to for some 3D design work? I build yurts and want to automate the cutting of my roofring.
    All advice is appreciated.

    Unhappy Accu-cut XP Problems

I too just purchased an 11 year old Accu-cut XP 5x10 CNC Router. It was working but all of a sudden stopped. All control xyz from key-pad or software do not work. The machine had its "machine-home" stops removed. When I did a machine home command the heads went to the end and "chattered" a bit before I hit the red kill button. I was told that simple turning off the power should reset the machine. No luck. HELP?!?!
