Default Line too long error on wincnc controller

    Hello,
I am a newbe to wincnc I used to work with komo routers with fanuac controllers
but its been awhile. My setup is CAM TECH 52 SM with Enroute 3 and a wincnc controller.
i purchase this second hand with no manuals. I have downloaded the manual and watched every
YouTube video I could find. It has got me to this point. Which is the machine responds fine
to all Gcode commands. I have found a couple of jobs that the previous owner left in the computer
and they run fine other than the z axis. When I go the create my own job and import the file it gives
an error message line too short. The Gcode files that I create are the same as the ones left in the computer. They start and end with the same commands.
Can anyone out there give me any ideas on how I might fix this error?

    thanks

Can you post the line that produces the error?

How about a screenshot of the actual error?

    On wincnc it's line 1
I have since used another program TPCWin software that came with my router that converts the file to an nc. Instead of tap. File and it will accept it and will run that file with no errors.
My other problem is my z axis is all over the place. I need to learn how to set home positions absolute / local
The machine will zero fine. I can touch the tool off to my work surface. Zero it and run the program. The z will not go to the proper depth. Most of the time it routes way above the work piece. (Gcode is correct)
Thank you ISLAWW for your reply. Don't know if you can help me with the z
The wincnc manual is so vague.

Is the program setting a tool length from the tool table? Look for a G43, or G43.1.

I was referring to the actual code that produces the error.

    Can you post the file?

The nc file that runs there is no g54 or g 43 in the code itself.
    It's specifies on the controller

My guess is that your file path name has too many characters in it. Some of those older versions had a smaller limit than todays versions.

    Steps to test:
Create a folder in the root (C
Copy your tap file to that folder
Open/load the file and see if it runs from that location
