i gotta cop to the easy way out! the biggest dilema is learning to use the software at this point. i will say it is helpfull in the competetive arena as my now non cnc competitors (whats left of them after the last few months in this economy) are still purchasing appliques and onlays at a fairly decent expence and i have the ability to configure what the customer wants and produce it at a reasonable cost. several shops are peeking in at what i am doing now and asking more questions about cnc.
i had a disscussion with a fellow at IWF who came across as a real closed minded sort of guy, he was asking "what will happen when cnc is the accepted standard in cabinetmaking and everyone would have one"?
i asked him "do you want to be first or last"
thanks for the compliments fellows but honestly i learn it here, and gerry you were a beta testor on a product that will step me up and is exactly what i wanted and waited for from the time i first saw the carvewright software and told them turkeys to make it available for gcode or conventional cnc use, to you i tip my hat, i have always been in woodworking to make money, being in magazines and such can be fun but i learned a long time ago, design it, sell it, deliver it, get your money and do not fall in love with it, artist starve!!!

Looks good, was that from a 2d image?
I should mention that the new Vcarve pro is what I have now, it also has autonesting and a few other cool features.
I may consider getting aspire at a later date but I haven't really had any work that requires it yet.
Shannon.
this is a scan intended to be 70 inches tall and life size when completed, guy matthews of new wave woodworking in NY deserves all credit for the scanning and file he is truley a master at this, i will machine this into a full size human scale chess set
