which tabletop cnc to buy? (yes, another one of those threads...)

i purchased a used mydiycnc and the wimpy rotary tool-like spindle will not cut through acrylic. i need a machine that can accommodate a porter cable palm router. i like the idea of the piranha because i can buy it at a brick and mortar (woodcraft) and it will come with a warranty. i will mainly be cutting small pieces of acrylic, up to 1/2 thick. i don't need a large cutting surface but at least 12x12. i'd like to be out the door with a router for <$2k. any suggestions? thanks.
