| Buying a used Colchester Just looking for user comments regarding Colchester Tornado CNC lathes. I am considering buying a used unit and am after opinions on their reliability, etc. It's a Tornado 300 with Fanuc OT control and is a 95 model. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| Hi there, I have a tornado storm a50 2001fanuc 21 it. When it works,it is a truly awesome machine, quick remarkably accurate every time. But the previous owner put crappy soluble oil in it and did not maintain it very well. Make sure the chuck is not worn out, check closely for corrosion damage on turret, drawtube cylinder and live center shaft and of course scratches on ways. good luck! Claude |
