I had read somewhere that the Tornados will turn shapes other than just diameters such as ellipse or even a hex. One of the manuals shows a hex being machined, but there was an optional tool holder to syncronize with the spindle. Can the standard Tornado do this? Fanuc O-T control Thanks, H |

| Next time I have some spare time I am going to give it a try. I would think it would be like a threading cycle to sync the tool to the spindle. Then perhaps something like a pecking cycle on the x axis. Would take some math layout to coordinate x travel with rotation. |

| From what I can remember the manual contains information about other fanuc controls not just O-T. Would you need live tooling to make a hexagon? The machine would have to have spindle orientation. When I have machined an ellipse on OT and 21iT I have always done it from egdecam. |
