rexroth pump leaking at filter | |
My T8MS has been leaking hyd fluid from the filter cap... apparently there was a design flaw in the cap itself, its plastic and only has 3 10mm bolts holding it down. It was determined that someone had over tightened the three bolts warping the plastic cap. Clausing rep said that it was common and that a replacement, aluminum cap would be sent to us.
I didn't have time to wait as the leak has gotten really bad, and we are in the middle of a week long training on the machine. . . our solution was to make a stainless steel cover to fit on top of the plastic cap causing consistent pressure on the entire cap (see picture). It worked beautifully! If you have a similar problem, I would be glad to cut you a cover for yours... just let me know, it only took a couple of minutes on our Flow Waterjet. I saved the DXF file just on case. Don't care to make any money on it, just want to help out if it's needed. I can also post the DXF here if anyone prefers that...
