A huge thank you to Tony as the re-sizing of the prize is going to take a long time to complete.
PS: Benny, I thought you just liked to lube the supporting poles and show your wife some tricks. (Had to be said!)
Here's how it works, you build a pole house hoping to save money with not having to excavate into the side of a slope. Then once your house is built you see all this undercover space under your house begging to be excavated so you can build a work shop there. You then realize you should have just excavated in the first place, and built a two story house.

I am planning on being there ... just trying to work around dates, whether to fly or drive ... I flew down for #8, but the costs add up (except when you are spending, sorry, investing in a great bit of CNC kit!!)

I'm thinking about sticking my head in to see if I can learn a thing or two. I've got a few questions:
1. How is the door prize going to work? FPV_GTp mentioned signing in at the door as a possibility - would you have somebody "official" cut up the sign-in sheet and pull names out of a hat? Do you have to be present at the drawing to still win a prize? (people signing in could provide email addresses and if they win but aren't present at the drawing be notified that way, but this means the someone official has the further duty of organising posting of prizes)
If you have to be present, it'd make more sense to do the drawing around lunchtime, as most people are likely to be around then. Otherwise it makes more sense to do it at the end of the day when you've had the most people sign in at the door.
2. I work at one of the companies donating prizes, does this disqualify me from winning something? What are the disclosure rules for the competition?
I'd be quite interested in a discussion of free / open source software for CNC control if someone were to put that together. When somebody rings up at work and asks about software I say that Mach3 is used by the majority of people and that there may be other options available - I'd like to know a little more about the other options so I can make the most suitable recommendations to people.
I was to have lunch with Kevin07, but stuff him. This is more important. I will be there
Hi Benny.
Which suburb sooo far away from St albans... (and Deer Park)
Is it still 2 days?
I can never arrive before 1PM.
Thanks.

Cool got the Private Mail, the headline is huge Ben well done.
I'll bring my machine and mach3/mastercam9 thinkpad and try to contribute to the nametags.
I am living out of a suitcase at the moment, I can't move mountains but I'll be there and happily pay a cover charge.
Dirk.
I will certainly be there. I will bring my small mill. (Compact 5 base and home made Z axis)

Just so every one knows, Mikie is doing all the arrangements for this BBQ. He has been responsible for sourcing most of the sponsors, setting the date, and finding the venue etc. Even though the initial post is in my name, Mikie has been using my login to change things accordingly. Mikie deserves all the credit for this one.Cool got the Private Mail, the headline is huge Ben well done.
Great effort Mike.
