Is the engraving to be on a flat surface or a rounded uneven surface.
Most of us could handle flat, but a rounded surface makes the job much more complicated.
BTW what side of town are you as I will then be able to suggest someone closer.
OT I know but I need a little help. A friend needs a piece of Bakelite engraved which is to big for my machine. It is for antique radios and requires a logo and dial engraving. Any takers?
Cheers,
Andrew

Being outside the square !!!
If you have the cutter I can engrave a piece x axis 1150mm y axis 600mm z axis 140mm. Using mach 3. I am based in Beaumaris.
DXF is fine if the contours are constant depth. If if is not you will need to generate G-code for mach 3. I have a 3mm collet and can run at 24000 rpm. It would be best if you had a test piece we could use to set speeds.
I dont understand your post
Me 2 neither
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
I think cnczone is having issues. messages are dissapearing and linking to diff threads. I am also getting zone emails that have no content. Anyone else having issues?

The only issue I have is that there are now so many ads and ad servers being accessed that CncZone is almost unusable, especially if I have more than 1 tab open.
I'm starting to use other forums a lot more now.
Cheers,
Peter
