(Now up to 11 Great Prizes). ***Pictures of the prizes are shown below*** Bring your machine, or a photo, or somthing of interest 6A Rangeview Road Donvale 3111 Starting at 9 AM Finishing at 5 PM (Exhibitors can arrive from 7.30 AM) FOOD & DRINK Please bring your own food and drink. I will organise some bread, sauce, coffee and nibblies for the event only. *******IMPORTANT UPDATE*************** Unfortunately Ivan has withdrawn his venue for the next BBQ and so I have had to make 2 changes. 1. New Venue: 6A Rangeview Road Donvale 3111 (Benny has graciously offered to host the BBQ and this is confirmed as a firm venue. Thank you very much Benny) - The online MAP below will show you the new venue location. 2. Saturday: Due to the change of venue the decision has been made to only have the BBQ on Saturday the 4th of July. (9.00am - 5.30pm) I hope this does not inconvenience people, but this was the best solution given the untimely withdrawal of the previous venue. ************************************* ************************************* Just so every one knows, Mikie is doing all the arrangements for this BBQ. He has been responsible for sourcing most of the sponsors, setting the date, and finding the venue etc. Even though the initial post is in my name, Mikie has been using my login to change things accordingly. Well I'm interested! I was unable to attend the one earlier this year, perhaps I'll have better luck with the next one.

| Hi Benny & all, The last BBC was great, unfortunately I could only spend a Couple of hours as I had to go up country, The next one I will sure my Wife make other arrangement on that day , so can spend more time. For the 10th CNC BBC put down for 2 persons myself and my Neighbor. I am still working on getting all bits together for my CNC Router table 640mm x 940mm for the Rails I am going to use 25.4mm O.D. Stainless Steel Tubes Wall thickness 2.6mm for the X and Y axis and for the Z axis the Tubing will be 19.05mm O.D. , Wall thickness 2.0mm for the bearing Truck's I will use Roller/ Skate bearings 22mm O.D 8mm I.O. 48 Bearings are Required Cost approx AU$ 55.00 The Plan I based CNC Table on was no 1 lan in the Plan Book I purchased From Solsylva.com. Cost approx. AU $66.00 The 3 Axis CNC Motor Kit I Purchased from XYLOTEX.com the Motors was 425 OZ.IN and comes complete with all Power and Drive Boards Cost approx. AU$ 550.00. For Lead Screws I have used 8mm all thread Rods and Lead Nuts 45mm 8mm internal tread. I do recommend, I you want Build CNC Router and you have no Plans, to purchase the above 5 Plan Book from Solsyva.com they are very detailed ,down to the last screw and bolt. Main Construction Material consist of MDF, Nuts & Bolt and Timber screws and PVA Glue. If I can help you to get started and where you can get all the materials required here in Melbourne. | Depending on dates and final approval from SWMBO I will be attending. I attended #8 and it was brilliant. Got all sorts of ideas, but lamentably my big machine is someway off completion. After #8 I did buy a Widgitmaster and have been doing all sorts of bits and pieces on that. Am on to my 3rd spindle! Dremel carked it very early on, then a Proxxon also carked it and am now onto my 2nd Proxxon and so far so good! Have had a good year exchanging posts on another un-named forum and got lots of help from Greolt, Rodm and many others. I hope that Greolt and Rodm will be able to attend the BBQ when it is planned. Cheers for now, Alan |

| When: End of June, beginning of July. Where: At someones place that hasn't hosted before or has ample space such as a factory, with lots of power. Different: Maybe produce something which can be taken home for all that attend/ who want it? I was thinking a small dinosaur skeleton cut from ply, or a token to go on your key chain made from aluminium? |

| If all goes well (funds and timing) then I plan to attend. I can't think of anything else to suggest for the day right now but will start thinking about it... maybe a shed heater for those of us that come from warmer parts of the country ![]() How about a competition for the day to see who can make the best cnc router for $100.00 bucks or less...the more "agricultural" the better, I am talking parts from printers, copiers whatever, spindles made from small scrap DC motors...you get the idea. Small machines of course and they can cut balsa wood or some kind of pattern on the day to find the winner. Those of us that live out of town and cannot make the BBQ could participate and send their beasts along in their place...not like it would be the end of the world if they get lost in transit...lol Just a thought anyway. I had a great day the last time I attended and would like to make it again. Russell. |

| I'd like to be there, unemployment has slowed the spending. Swapping/buying surplus stuff at the 9th bbq looked like a good direction for future events, like the car clubs do. Even obscure stuff like momentary switches are being charged $3 ish at tricky dicky and jaycar. Old hoarded stuff from a machinery merchant if the crowd numbers would entice him to get out of bed early on a sunday. Does anybody have a rong fu 30,31,40 with the column missing? Or an old pantograph with the copy arm missing? Nema 34, 42 steppers? Old touchscreen lcd panels? If you hire a hall you'd have to secure some entrance fee to cover rent, unless kevin(?) was cool about using his driveway again. Or tie it into a swap meet for another type of club, like, model rail or at an rc car club car park on a sunday (dandenong?) (240v power?). In a car park you wouldnt have to unload the machine, run it on the trailer. A few thoughts. |

Ivan has put up his hand again to host the 10th BBQ at his factory. The date is the 4th and 5th (2 day event) of July, so bring you fire crackers and sleeping bags (if you like). The suggestion for food has 2 options and if people could please indicate their preference. 1. Bring your own, that includes absolutely everything from drink to bread, milk and coffee. 2. Put in $5 and we can buy stacks of snags, etc and bread, etc. /Michael |
