I think it will have to be Jan. As I mentioned b4, if it is at my house, I need to make sure the slab is in and cured. Unfortunately this slab is not a regular one on a flat surface, and is giving me greif in terms of engineering and building requirements. Jan will ensure I have enough time to have overcome all these issues.
Eclipse, your soulution is a good one, why not have the Nov one at your house and focased towards local members only.
Personally I think it will be a great loss not having Greg there, but sometimes a desicion needs to be made even if its not going to please every one.
Being outside the square !!!
Hi All
I have not been keeping up with these postings but after seeing the last BBQ I will be at the next one whether it is in November or January or February. I have not started my build yet as I have been waiting on circuit boards to build the controllers. I would certainly be interested in seeing the construction of a router as I am still not sure just how I will go about it. I have several ideas and none of them are set in concrete yet.
Count me in with whatever you decide and I will certainly try to be there.
Regards
domar
I'll be in Melbourne from Dec 20th till Dec 29th, so I might have to make a return trip 11 days later
Cheers
Claudio
G'Day,
I'm a newbie to the Forum and CNC, but I guess my passion for designing and building things and for machinery and equipment and my interest in computers, dictated that one day all these things would culminate in one project..... so I'm planning on building a CNC plasma cutter.
I'm simply in the research stage at the moment, having a look at whats around in the way of parts, components, suppliers etc, but when my current project is completed in March I want to get on with the build!
I would be most interested in attending your day if you don't mind as I'm on a steep learning curve at the moment and the chance to look at a real build and to talk to others face to face would be great!it will be Sat Jan 10 2009 at my place.
Donvale, eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Peter.
It would be great to have you along Peter, the BBQ's are all about learning all sorts of stuff, it is a great day to get some inspiration and idea's.
Welcome to the zone !!!
Russell.
Thanks Russell, I'm looking forward to it already.
I've got to say this Forum is brilliant....I've already learnt so much in the few days since I joined.
Although I don't intend to start actually building my unit for some time, I'm already formulating some design concepts based on forum members posts, ideas and "do's & don'ts"!
When I get a little closer I might post the concept design for a bit of critique by people who know a lot more about this subject than I do .... although I'm learning fast

Sounds like a plan Peter, there are plenty of options when it comes to your build, having a look at what others have done makes sense rather than jumping in the deep end (which is what I did)
I have a few things I want to finish before the 10th to bring along, just have to avoid getting sidetracked ! It is not all that far away either and the silly season is in between now and then as well.
Just got back from a holiday to the Gold Coast so it is all systems go from now till then...
Hope to see you there.
Russell.
I recon I picked a bad date. My wife is hassling me that we should go away on a holiday. I hate sitting on beaches, but the wife rules. I think we might have to pospone it for a month. Ill let you know once I know whats happening, once he wife lets me know whats happening![]()

Clever woman that wife of yours.![]()
No probs Benny, just let us know when you can, I for one have heaps to do before the day so I don't mind it being postponed.
Russell.
How's the negotiations going with the boss Benny?
