The next CNC BBQ 's date has been set for Saturday 24th of May 2008.
This one will be held in an empty factory in St Albans. Melbourne
Bring your own food for cooking on the supplied BBQ.
Please make sure you register your interest in coming, in this thread, as it gives us an idea of numbers and also bounces the thread.
Features of the day are....
Vendors and sponsors are also welcome, but there will be no guarantees of sales, or guest numbers that turn up. We are aiming at 40 guests this time.
- Great time to meet with like minded folk.
- Guest speakers
- Machines on display, and functioning.
- Half hour lecture on ModIO (Peter Homann)
- Half Hour lecture on Vectric software (Greg Holt)
- Half hour lecture on Mach3 (Some dude)
- Possible demonstrations of other software use. (Any one who feels inclined)
- Electronics and software people to pick their brains
- Tutorial, how to convert a conventional paper printer into a PCB board maker.(epineh / Russell)
- PCB Milling Demonstration (Eclipze)
- Etc
Vendors will need to bring benches etc for their own displays. There is no charges to vendors, however their is a casual expectation they will offer a give away or some sort of prize to the pool.
The current sponsors are Artsoft, Vectric, and Homann designs and Image Blinds.

The current prizes to be drawn on the day are A Mach3 Licence, and a 2d Cut licence. You must register your interest in this thread to be eligible enter the draw.
To the regulars that come, it would be great if you promoted this to all your friends that share similar interest.

We need to get as much stuff to look at as possible.
I would love to see an MDF router make an appearance. To show some with a limited budget what is possible.
I'll stick my hand up for name badges again. New design and better colour.![]()
Done of course using Mach3 and Vcarve Pro. No better still I'll use Cut2D.
Last BBQ Vectric kindly sponsored us with a copy of Photo Vcarve to give away as a door prize.
This time I will show some Lithophanes to show off one of it's coolest capabilities.
