And another from Sydney

OK, well I'll be another one coming down from Sydney. I will probably drive down the day before and stay with family for a few days.

I'm quite new to CNC after buying a Taig CNC Mill on eBay recently, and upgrading with one of the Homann Designs TurboTaig boards. I will try bring along my brother as well (who appears to live close to Benny).

Hi Guys

Add me in and make room for my MDF machine. Whatever Mikie says about my machine isn't true and its not held together with fence pailings that may have come from Mikes shed.

Benny,
Maybe you can pad out the numbers where there are multiples coming. I get around 35 plus or minus attending.

Greg,
You had better start making the badges now or you will miss out on lunch.

If you send me the code I will run a couple up for bones and myself if that helps.

Just a suggestion - maybe a few of the others can do it as well and we can have a competition on the best one. That will still leave you with plenty to do for those that don't have a machine, etc. I am a visitor so I will leave it for you guys to decide on that.

Rod

The idea with the badges is not that we really need names tags,
although that is good, but to have a machine doing something for people to see that relates to the day.

Working machine is always better to look at than a static one.

So the first thing when attendees (newcomers to CNC) turn up is we place their name into
the CAM program (Vcarve Pro) template and produce the name badge as they watch on a small CNC router.

So you see it is more to do with demonstration than production. They only take a few minutes each.

Having said that if those who were at the last BBQ can remember to bring theirs it will be less to make and I will get some lunch.

Thanks Greg,
Makes sense a working machine is much better to look at.

What prompted me was I did the sums last night and 35 tags at 5 minutes each is nearly 3 hours. A bloke could get hungry and thirsty over that time.

I hope someone is going to bring a broom! We will certainly need it for the cleanup.

Maybe I should borrow my Mother in Law's broom to fly down on for the day

Wow that's a bit of a worry.

We had about 20 attendees last time and if most of those bring their badge with them it won't be too bad.

Tony, I'll try to remember a broom. Don't want to leave Ivan with a mess.

Well my estimate was always 40 from early on, given the amount of notice for this event.
I notice that some have posted they will come in the thread without adding their name to the list, and on top of that, there are ALWAYS those who arrive on the day without ever saying so in the forum. I will be bringing 60 sausages and bread on the day to cater for those who want to buy them on the day. I might even bring my bbq to supplement the strain on Ivan's one.
