Victoria, Australia CNC meeting and maybe barbeque - July 2/3 2011

Hi all,
at the last BBQ on May 1 in Burwood, the idea was floated and supported to meet again in Kangaroo Flat (Southern suburb of Bendiogo in Central Victoria) in early July.
The event is the 9th Bendigo Model Engineering Exhibition.
It's at the Kangaroo Flat Leisure Centre, Browning Street (visible from the main street/Clader Highway) on July 2, 2011 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday July 3 9:00am to 4:00pm.

This is a really big exhibition now of all things engineering - including CNC machines - outstanding model engineering solutions and exhibition standard work in all areas of models and full size machinery.

There is a park right next to it with BBQ facilities 50m or so away from the exhibition.
I suggest a BBQ for either or both Saturday or Sunday lunchtime.
Since few of us have actually met, I suggest that at least one member of each group that knws each other wears a discreet nametag that say "CNCzone" so we can find each other. There will be hundreds of people there at any time of the day.

Kangaroo Flat is 150km form Melbourne along the Calder Freeway and it takes 1 hr 45mins from Mt Alexander Road to reach.
Directions? Head North on the Calder, when you pass through the Kangaroo Flat shopping area, look an the left for a huge sign announcing the Exhibition. Turn left and you have reached your destination.

Anyone wanting to stay overnight, do your bookings NOW. This exhibition is attended from all around the country!

Well, July 2 & 3 is this weekend.
The Bendigo National Model Engineering Exhibition is on, and I'm happy to meet up with CNCzone members for a BBQ.
I haven't heard of anyone intending to attend, just Andrew's apology. So I'll assume I can pack a BBQ for one then (Big Mac) ....

G'Day Joe,
I'll be up from Geelong for the Expo on Sunday. A group of us from Geelong have got 3 tables booked for show and tell. I'll have patterns and core boxes I've CNC'd for a small hit and miss engine. The rest of the boys (GMEN) will be arriving on Friday night to set up. Would like to make it for the whole weekend but my 5 year old has his birthday on Saturday.

Andrew, I was up on Sunday. Great event with heaps of models, projects and suppliers on show. I believe the Saturday was packed all day with visitors. Sunday rained all day but still very eventful. Models were run out side included radial engines iwith one an 18 cylinder. Very enjoyable event. I believe they will be looking at a larger venue to fit more exhibitors in next time.
