Hi all,
Just wanted to put the feeler out to see what the potential is to establish a regular CNC BBQ in the Newcastle NSW area.
I have just purchased an industrial facility around Newcastle and would be happy to host an event if we can get a few interested members.
If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

Great idea,
I certainly hope you can get this idea of the ground. I'm at the northern end of the Central Coast. If i can help in any way let me know.
Hey guys thanks for the reply.
I think if we can start with just a few people the idea can grow from there.
It seems the other clubs around Aust have a great turnout.
I have one small CNC machine running. I am in the process of building a larger one now and I will start a thread tho show it off soon.
I hope to be able to kick somthing off in about 2-3 months once this property sale is complete.
Well that's 3 people.........sounds like a bbq to me Hellman!
2-3 months now gives me a time goal to meet! My build thread is here: My JOES build thread......
As Denz also said, let us know if any assistance required. I work at the RAAF base so will investigate if there is any other CNC interest out there and direct them to cnczone "australian clubhouse".

Hi
I will be up that way on the weekend of the 19 September for a wedding (not mine). I would like to drop in but this will depend on timing. I will keep a eye on this thread see how it pans out.

Although I control my lathe and mills with cnc, I've never considered adding cnc to my bbq.
Will you use steppers or servos, what software, and what functions on the bbq do you intend to control with cnc.
This sounds like an interesting project. Please post lots of pictures. Would also be nice if you could post some smell-o-grams.
Tom
Hi again,
Your machine looks great Craig. I went down the MDF path to start with but decided to do a steel build since I am a little bit more comfortable with a welder than a wood saw
I have started a build thread in the router section. I have not decided between router or plasma yet but perhaps it could even do both??
At this stage the 19th of September could be a good date to shoot for.
If you get a chance, check out what I managed to build over the weekend.

Hi Todd
If bbq day could 18th/9, Saturday, as this is when I am travelling up to the wedding. If it could happen this way would suit me the best. If not will work something out.
I will bring along my current project a tool height gauge
contact probe build
Have a bit of show and tell.
Todd your build is most interesting, our next build we where thinking along the same lines a must to come and see.
