Been lurking while my membership was approved. So now it's time to introduce myself and say hello from the "Sunny South" I am a medically retired master mechanic who just returned from the Middle East in support of the US military mission to Iraq. I have been self teaching machinist skills since I was discharged from the hospital after an 8 month extended "visit". I have a 20x20 dedicated shop with a Torchmate 4x4 small shop machine, a 3-in-1 mill/drill/lathe , a 7x mini lathe and all manner of welder, press and grinders. I have spent the time since hospital discharge learning from all of the video at glacern, the Army and the MIT sites and have invested in any and all books related to those subjects. As a former master mechanic I know the value of education, but also the need of hands on demonstration of the skills I am learning through the internet and books. So with all of that said, Hello from Florida ( currently a sunny 30 degrees with a killer windchill right now), and thanks in advance for all of the help you guys seem to give so freely!!!! |
