Hi everey body. I am new to this. Mistakes may be condoned. I am a consultant in a tool room in India, making moulds and mouldings. I recently read an article which talks about using Al. alloys for making injection moulds. Honda car company has started it in serious way. The article says 7000 sereis material is generally used for making them. Can anyone throw more light on this as to what is the specific alloy that is used for this, what are the machining conditions during machining of cavity and core, can EDM and wirecut be performed on these alloys etc.? nanabalu |
