Equipment/ software. I Have Coral Graphics x4, Autocad LT09, and a lockformer vulcan 5x10 plasma table. The table is running Vulcan cutting 5.7 version 3 circa 1994 (ugh). I am very new to getting files to my table. I can download some DXF off of the Internet and they work fine. I try and convert my own from pdf to dxf and they do not come through to the table. The cut computer will pull up the saved dxf file and the screen is blank. I start with a pdf in coral graphics, save it as a dwg or dxf, i then open autocad lt09, save it as dxf file in all different dxf formats and none of them show up on the cut computer. Any ideas would help. |

| the only thing I can recommend is "early" versions of dxfhey are not all created equal. I recently had to go back to a rev 12 to get it to work on one program. Good luck

| It seams to convert okay. I can pull it up in autocad lt09 and it appears the dxf file is complete. I am leaning towards the dxf version (07, 04, ,00, 12,13, or?) or the way I saved it in coral draw x4? Somebody mentioned that corel 9 can fix most dxf files. Maybe I need to change some of the lines in the cad file in autocad? Or can I save directly from corel draw x4 to a usable dxf file? Thanks for all of your input. |

| The best thing to do is save the pdf as a jpg and bring it into autocad as a background layer. Then redraw the part by tracing the background image. Make sure you get the scale right. I've tried and tried to find a way to convert pdf's to dwg's but it's not going to work. |
