Another new guy

Hey guys, my name is Ray.

I've been pokin' around here for a while since I was thinking about converting my mill to an nc a few months ago.

But after getting into some programming at school, I've decided to wait. If I convert anything it will be my lathe since one less axis would probably help keep my sanity.

I've been machining for only a while now, 4 years I guess this year. I've been working for a great company that has paid for my apprenticeship, I'm on year 3 now, which is... good fun hah.

But this summer we were working 3 day weeks because of the recession, nothing to do. So I decided to get my self a 7X12 lathe for my parents garage and make some parts on the side.
Not to long after I got my craftex mini mill which is grizzly basically, weaker motor though.
I'm pretty happy with them.
Spend most of my time making small car parts, bike parts, rc helicopter parts. Anything anyone wants me to make if I can...

Did my first thread on the little lathe last weekend, did a pretty good job besides the finish. That was me being lazy...

Little 3-5mm shaft for a guys helicopter project. That was hard, thank god for follower rests.

Steering hub for my car. That one I had to rough out at work, otherwise I would have been boring for months lol

I've had soo much fun making these little parts I hate going to work and making boring oil field components now. I only get one day to go out to my parents and play, it sucks lol
