    G83 deep hole drilling

    Does anyone know how to degrease the peck in a G83 drilling cycle on a fanuc control also can you give an initial peck value in the same cycle? I can do this with my fadal control but can not figure it out with the fanuc control.

    G83 Variabel pitch on an fanuc should be.

    G83 X... Y... Z... R... I...-J... K... L... F... ;

    I: Initail Value
    J: Reducing Value
    K: Final Value

    L:= 0 only x,y positioning
    =# Number of hole repeats if useing G76/G77 Shift

    Try this

    I run an ikegai with a fanuc 16m. I just currently wondered the same thing. My boring mill is not set up to do it. If you write a drill program in mastercam lathe it will post it in mill events. like:
    N1490 G0 Z.1
    N1500 Z-4.57
    N1510 G1 Z-4.7
    N1520 G0 Z.1
    N1530 Z-4.67
    N1540 G1 Z-4.8
    N1550 G0 Z.1 (of course i changed the Z's to W's in my editor)
    N1560 Z-4.77
    N1570 G1 Z-4.9
    N1580 G0 Z.1
    N1590 Z-4.87
    N1600 G1 Z-5.
    N1610 G0 Z.1
    N1620 Z-4.97
    N1630 G1 Z-5.1
    N1640 G0 Z.1
    N1650 Z-5.07
    N1660 G1 Z-5.2
    N1670 G0 Z.1
    I wrote one that went 36 inches deep and saved it. So if i want to start at -4.57 deep in the hole with my intermediate drill i pull that program up copy what i want from that program and put it into my program. or sub program if you have a lot of holes. It may seem crude but its better than drilling air and it saves time.
