I from Russia. Me interest filament winding machines

Where to find information about CNC winding machines (glass, carbon). Who has already manufactured: design, software, pictures, etc...Information about exactly self-made winders is required.

    Thanks

    Zdrasvoyet ya drook.

I am new here myself and can not help you much. I just want to welcome you.

    BTW.

What part of Russia are you from?

    Greetings, Val
    Thanks.
    My name is Igor
I live in the city of Belgorod
These are 700 km from Moscow.

It's OK Igor. I speak a little Russian and have Russian and Ukrainian friends who speak very little English and have learned how to make up for our limits.

Maybe that is where I can help you. If you get confused talking with people here, let me know and I will do my best to help with communication.

    BTW.

Nice area you live in. I myself want to visit Petrograd some day around Christmas time. I lived in Alaska for years, so I am familiar with the weather.

    Val,
In Petersburg is much warmer than in Juneau
I when was the USSR, served in the Air Forces in the Far East
It is area from Japan up to Alaska
On this site likely nobody will help me
Filament winding machines and here a rarity
Even books I can not discover on design

I heard that Petersburg is much like the British Columbia of Canada. Not a huge difference from where I was in Alaska, but noticeable.

I have never even heard of the machine you speak of, but I am a writer which means that I am skilled at research. I will do what I can to help you.

Please share any details that may help me help you.

Thanks for desire to help me
Me calculation, constructing and design filament winding machine interests
In the USA there are corporations which do such machines
    For example

    http://entec.com/
    http://www.mccleananderson.com/

But it is greater machines for factories
    Me the machine self-made interests
I wish to make such machine
I think at it there should be 4 axes or more
The length of an article is no more 2 meters
The machine should know how to wind fittings for pipelines (elbow, tee and so on)

    Once again thanks
    Igor

    Hello Igor,

I used to sell coil winding machines ( copper wire inductor winding machines from Tanak Seiki from Japan ) and i also made a small coil windingmachine based on two steppermotors and and Atmel microcontroller . The software was written in C.

EMC2 has all the software you need to make a machine of your own.

A lot depends on what you intend to do. You mention filament winding. I guess carbon fibre and any other kind of fibre comes under that label.

So may be You can tell us a bit more..say:
    Nature of fibre?
How large a diametar do you want to process?
    Circular or irregular radius?
    Thickness of winding?

All of this will help to discuss the filament handling and delivery mechanism to the pool or dolly.
The reason i mention nature of filament isbecause everything else must follow on from the type of filament and winding geometry.

Dolly or former is the base upon which the filament is wound.

    Zig,

    Thanks for the answer.

I think that will be approximately so:

    1. Fiberglass roving, 735 tex
    2. Articles as symmetric and not symmetric
(fittings for pipelines, elbow, tee and so on, short pipes)
    3. The maximal external diameter of a symmetric detail of 300 mm
    4. Thickness the wound stratum up to 20 mm

    Igor,

Your requirement is not readily met by a "self made" machine.

There are a number of isssues which need to be resolved at a fairly sophisticated level in order to form elbow components and non symetric elements.

Most notably a cad/cam package which will generate the NC instructions.

Do you already have such software solutions?

Once the software is determined it will then be necesary to translate the axes and degrees of freedom in the software to equivalent mechanical axes and degrees of freedom.

The delivery of filament will be through a nozzlewhich will ensure the filament is deposited at the right tension and in the correct space.

SO again I come back to the CAD/CAM software. Do you have such a software package in mind?

Let me just say that straight cylindrical product is not difficult to make or to write NC code .

    Zig,
To wind symmetric details, not absolutely interestingly
At me is not present CAD \CAM
I think what to buy CADWIND or CADFIL or other software
    I cannot, a big price
Likely it is possible to ask to generate NC
At those at whom is CAD \CAM
But CAD, fiber delivery systems, tensioners, resin impregnation it is a following stage.
    Now I think about winder.
What loadings and forces, accelerations, drives, transmissions, amount of axes and so on.
    Zig,
    I very badly know English
    I ask me to excuse

    Hello Igor,

We are a small company and wind carbon and glass, and may be able to help you.

We are in the Process of building our own filament winder, it is not cheap, around US$30,000 to do yourself. You will need a CAD package, CADWIND is what we recommend and can provide you with a license.

To wind elbows and tees is hard without CAD, straight pipe is easy.

Please see our website to find out more.
