why are posts backward?

First off I'm a newbie here. It's a great site with tons of information!!

But I have a dumb newbie question; Why are the posts set up first post last in a thread?

I'm a member on quite a few forums and have never seen one set up this way. It makes it real hard as as someone new to read a thread. Or maybe I'm just lazy!?

Does any one know the answer?

You can change the settings in your "User Control Panel", the link is at the top left of most pages (or here http://www.cnczone.com/forums/usercp.php ) Edit Options in the Control Panel.

Switcher, thank you! This is the first forum that I've been on that has first last as default. I never even thought to look at options.
