    Viva Las Vegas!

The wife and I decided to use some of our Uncle Sam money this year to take a vacation. It will be our first real vacation since we have been together (almost 11 years).

We're heading to Sin City! It's was alot cheaper to go during the week. So we'll be arriving on Monday, and leaving on Friday (Apr. 25-29). I can't really believe how cheap it is now days.

Just wondering what the "don't miss" things to do are. Anyone been there lately?

I've seen that the Statosphere has another new ride. Looks intense! So that will probably be one of the places we try to make it to. The wife is more into the "lets go see Hoover Dam" kind of thing. It's just a bunch of cememt to me..... Any suggestions welcome.

Dab...what are you saying? I know that in that heart of your lies an engineer!

The first time I saw that thing it took my breath away. I had just watched a documentary on public television about a month earlier and knew some of the history about it and maybe that made a difference for me. So now you gotta study before you can go!

If you want to make a visit to Hoover Dam really exciting, you should be prepared.

It can be really hot there, so I'd suggest you dress for the desert -- head covering, flowing robes, etc. And be sure to take lots of pictures.

I believe that you used to be able to get an inside tour. Things have changed since 911.

The Hoover Dam is cool. Much smaller than I thought (across, that is, it's very high). And it can be hot there. But it was 110° the whole week I was in Vegas.
