hi all,
we're a small shop making carbon parts for motorcycles, and we've been cutting our parts by hands. i really want to upgrade our process into CNC cutting but we can't afford a 5 axis machine yet and for the quantity we are making (30~50 pcs each part) it's probably too much work to set up the machine.

i'm looking into waterjet and lasers, or some smaller sized CNC routers like shopbot buddy. (most of our parts are relatively small, like a front fender of a bike). the problem is our parts come in all different shapes and angles so i'll need another axle to turn the part so the bid/jet/laser is perpendicular to the surface.

anyway, what's your guys' suggestions? i even bought a microscribe G2 and thinking maybe i can draw the contour of the part and transfer it into the tool path for the router. like a key maker.

thx
