hi this is my new thread and first post. I am interested in cnc, im used to a mill and i feel that the x, y table movements that i usually control at the same time to manually cut. Is it possible to attach encoders to the table control wheels and record the manual motion then play it back for successive cuts? Lets say for arguments sake that is it possible to connect 3 jog wheels to 3 axis and move them simultaneously and record all three axis simultaneously to play back at a later time? Thanks guys simon |

| Welcome to the Zone. yes it is possible. machines like the haas tl-1 will do just that. I don't know if it would be possible on a home built machine. I would think you would have trouble with finding a control software that would be capable of doing it. I am not sure if that's something mach 3 is capable of doing i just started playing with it last week but that would be a place to start. How do you plan on jogging all 3 axis at once? It would be funny to see that ![]() Hennessy |

hi well im glad it may be possible, would be interesting to see if anyone had any success with it, im using it to control a camera too, which is why i wanted 3 axis, the 2 axis is for the cnc mill. 1 axis for pan 1 axis for tilt 1 axis for zoom spindle for film advance 1 axis for focus only need to record zoom, pan and tilt simultaneously. simon |

| Mach3 has a plugin that records jog movements. I think it'll do what you want.
