New member in Georgia

I just signed up after browsing these forums for a while.

I have been taking machining classes at a local votech school, and have completed the g-code classes for lathe and mill. We have Haas machines at the school, and I did make a few parts on the lathe. The next class is MasterCam.

I'm a retired hobby machinist, and have a manual mill and lathe in my home shop that I use for making model steam engines.

I am considering purchasing a small CNC mill sometime in the future. I'm not too interested in converting a manual mill or getting into the electronics of a DIY build, My only "requirement" is a R8 spindle so as to make use of the manual mill tooling.

sense you are looking for a mill with an R-8 taper i would suggest something like this. http://www.southwesternindustries.com
