After visiting this forum off and on for a year or more, I thought I might introduce myself. My name is Chuck and I've been an amateur machinist off and on for 30 years or more. I seem to have settled on building model engines and the tooling needed to make them. I'm facinated by CNC and would love to build my own CNC mill, but it seems overwhelming and potentially very expensive. Being retired, the chief financial office keeps a close eye on UPS deliveries! Also, not really sure what I'd use CNC for. I'm mostly interested in the equipment itself and not so much what I could build with it. Am thinking that a Sieg X2 might be a good starting point since my shop is small and pretty short on floor space at the moment! Chuck |
