    Mori 5 axis Lathe

    Hello Gentlemen and Ladies

am new to this forum but not to machining.
i have been machining for 18 years and have done a little of every thing.
i hope that i can join this community and be of help to some of you as i hope some of you will be of help to me too.
i have been lurking here for a couple of months now but didn't have much to say.
so today we took delivery of two mori seiki machines one being a horizontal mill and a NT4250DCG 5 axis lathe.
my first question is: do any of you have experience with this particular machine and what software did you use to program it?
i am using Mastercam X4 and i am going to try and come up with a post for it.
i say try cause this one will be a pain.
so if there is any one that can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

If you have X4 you should have maintanence right? If I remember right one of the big selling points for X4 was that it should be able to shroud the swiss machines, correct me if I'm wrong but because it is 5 axe and an NT it doesn't have a sub spindle. So 2 turrets? If so I don't think you should have any problem finding a post for it. You could also try partmaker I know it is another suite, but I understand their customer service is unsurpassed.

My two cents, there is also a Mori forum if you scroll down a way into metalworking machines.

    Regards, Robert

    thanks for the response Robert
the machine does have a sub spindle
it has a turret and it has a head that will rotate to machine the face of either chuck. both turret and head have live tooling on it.
as far as partmaker goes i have to make it work with what i have, oh and thanks for the heads up on the mori forum. like i said am a new here :lol
