Can a 1986 Mazatrol cam M2 controlls run DNC

I am helping a friend out at a small shop he is starting. He has 2 Mazatrol cam m2 controlls and needs to run 3d programs comming from unigraphics. He is currently not set up for drip feed only programming at the mill 2d. What do
I have to do to set this up if the controller can even do this. According to a mazak tech I talked with this morning it can not be done because of the age of the control, a 1986. I have no manuals and I personally have not run Mazaks before.

I RAN A VQC 20-40B WITH CAM M2 CONTROL ABOUT 12 YEARS AGO. I DON'T KNOW THE AGE OF THE MACHINE, BUT WE HAD DRIP FEED ON OUR MACHINE. YOU MUST PRESS THE AUTO AND F2 BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME TO SET MACHINE IN "TAPE MODE". IF THE LIGHT STAYS LIT ON THE F2 BUTTON YOUR READY TO DRIP FEED, IF LIGHT DOES NOT STAY LIT YOU NEED TO INSTALL A BOARD INSIDE THE MAZAK, BY A MAZAK TECH. CONTACT MAZAK IN KENTUCKY, THEY DID OURS IN THE EARLY 1990'S FOR ABOUT 1,800 DOLLARS. GOOD LUCK!
