I am sure there isn't anyone like Harley that makes every one of their thousands of parts that go in their products in house. I think someone would be hard pressed to find any bearings made in the USA anyway. I have a pet peeve,
the American flags they put next to Chinese made products in the Rutland catalog, things that have been made in China for years like Milwaukee tools.
Who the hell are they trying to fool? I have written them numerous times and received no replies.
There are a few websites dedicated to American made products like stillmadeinusa.com

I understand that everyone has a supplier (everyone), I worked for a bearing supplier that made bearings for the hogs. I worked in Spartanburg, South Carolina USA. The bearings have been made here in the USA, since I worked for the company (last 9 years).

The hog bearings are now made in Mexico since first Jan. 2009.

My rant is they are still playing the public, with the "Made in America" pledge, Just because I bolt some parts together, & put a high price tag on it doesn't make it "Made in America", that's misleading.

Another fine example of a company that can't see past the pile of cash, they rake in each year.

I saw a documentary on National Geographic Channel about how they made motorcycles at Harley Davidson and I wouldn't call their operation as you labeled, pretty high tech setup they have at the factories...

Regarding the Made in USA label, here are the rules: http://www.ftc.gov/os/1997/12/epsmadeusa.htm
To use the label you don't need to have 100% made in USA parts.

Yep, that's what I was going to say. I've owned Honda, Kawasaki and Harley's. I can tell you that if my Harley doesn't quit draining my bank account, I'm going to put a pipe bomb in the gas tank.

Buy aftermarket or replacement parts for a Honda, made in Japan... Ok, I'd rather buy american, but atleast Japan is not a currency manipulating sweatshop ****-hole country.

Buy aftermarket or replacement parts for a Harley, made in CHINA... WTF? All American my ass! I laugh when I see the "hardcore Harley guys", they have $6000 worth of shiney import crap hanging off thier bike, they would be more American to have just bought a Honda.

Pathetic, isn't it?

No offense, but I didn't watch my job leave the USA on TV, I watched it in my rear view mirror pulling out of the employee parking lot.

Thanks for the link, that pretty much made my point... Law or not, it's still BS

IV. SUBSTANTIATING U.S. ORIGIN CLAIMS:
THE "ALL OR VIRTUALLY ALL" STANDARD

Based on its review of the traditional use of the term "Made in USA," and the record as a whole, the Commission concludes that consumers are likely to understand an unqualified U.S. origin claim to mean that the advertised product is "all or virtually all" made in the United States. Therefore, when a marketer makes an unqualified claim that a product is "Made in USA," it should, at the time the representation is made, possess and rely upon a reasonable basis that the product is in fact all or virtually all made in the United States.(12), (13)

A product that is all or virtually all made in the United States will ordinarily be one in which all significant parts(14) and processing that go into the product are of U.S. origin. In other words, where a product is labeled or otherwise advertised with an unqualified "Made in USA" claim, it should contain only a de minimis, or negligible, amount of foreign content. Although there is no single "bright line" to establish when a product is or is not "all or virtually all" made in the United States, there are a number of factors that the Commission will look to in making this determination. To begin with, in order for a product to be considered "all or virtually all" made in the United States, the final assembly or processing of the product must take place in the United States. Beyond this minimum threshold, the Commission will consider other factors, including but not limited to the portion of the product's total manufacturing costs that are attributable to U.S. parts and processing; and how far removed from the finished product any foreign content is.
